چکیده

One of the features that has characterized magnetic resonance since its first demonstration in 1946 has been its ability to reinvent itself and develop in new and surprising ways. One such change was the development of MR imaging; this technique has evolved in unpredictable directions. We will assume that the laws of physics, chemistry, engineering, biology, and, to a lesser extent, economics will not undergo any fundamental change in the foreseeable future, although anyone who had assumed this in the year 1900 would soon discover that s/he was mistaken. We will assume that there will be no shortage of clinical imagination in applying techniques so that the limitations specific to MR imaging are likely to arise from the physical, chemical, engineering, biological, and economic constraints of the technique itself. These will be expressed in achievable machine design and performance, which will form the focus of this discussion.

Recent Advances in PET-MR Hybrid contrast agent

Introduction: All of the Imaging modalities have advantages and disadvantages alone. So if we want to have the best and perfect image, combining these modalities produces something we desired. PET-MR images consist of morphologic and metabolic data. MRI and PET provide high spatial and contrast resolution and high sensitivity and molecular information respectively. Hybrid PET-...

SWI: Probe for neuroradiologists

Susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) has continued to develop into a powerful clinical tool to visualize venous structures and iron in the brain and to study diverse pathologic conditions. It is a new art which evaluates and exploits the properties of blood, iron and other tissues. It is a magnitude or filtered phase images or combination of both, obtained with high-resolution 3D fully velocit...

Diffusion tensor brain imaging findings at term-equivalent age may predict neurologic abnormalities in low birth weight preterm infants.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Low birth weight preterm infants are at high risk of brain injury, particularly injury to the white matter. Diffusion tensor imaging is thought to be more sensitive than conventional MR imaging for detecting subtle white matter abnormalities. The objective of this study was to examine whether diffusion tensor imaging could detect abnormalities that may be associated with ...
